Blair Lockhart, Candidate of Record

Blair was our candidate in the last election and performed very well at community events, door-to-door, debates, traditional media, online and social media.

She and her team personally visited most of the houses in the riding and distributed flyers to every household.

Her campaign team had a buzzing office and also a mobile campaign office which attending many events throughout the riding.

The team also had the riding plastered with signs. Many will remember how, early on election day, bright yellow checkmarks appeared on each cardboard sign throughout the riding.

Blair has lived, volunteered, studied and worked in Dunbar, Kerrisdale and UBC since 1987. Along with her husband, Tony Fogarassy, they have raised their two children here, Sandy and Mercedes.


Law: Blair is a senior legal counsel, with substantial experience in securities, corporate and mining law. She has worked at companies in the technology and mineral exploration sectors as a lawyer for 15 years. Previously, she was a Crown Prosecutor.

She is bilingual in english and french and has lived across Canada and around the world as part of a Canadian military family.

Geologist: She is an experienced geologist, working on mineral and exploration projects throughout Western Canada and internationally.

Academic: Blair was the founding Faculty Lead of BCIT’s Centre for Mine Economics and Business. She taught environmental law at Capilano University and as an adjunct professor at UBC.

Community Service

Blair is an active member of not-for-profit organisations and tribunals including:

  • Canadian President of Children’s International Summer Villages, an international children’s peace education organisation
  • Member, Beauty Night Society, a charity assisting disadvantaged women in the downtown eastside

Blair Lockhart a reçu sa formation scientifique et juridique à UBC. Elle vit à Dunbar, Kerrisdale, depuis 1987. C’est ici qu’elle travaille et c’est ici qu’elle offre ses services bénévoles. Marieé avec Tony Fogarassy, c’est ici qu’ils élèvent leurs deux enfants, Sandy et Mercedes.


Le Droit: Blair est un conseiller juridique avec une expertise considérable en ce qui concerne les valeurs mobilières, le droit des sociétés, et l’exploration minérale. Cela fait 15 ans qu’elle travaille comme avocate dans les entreprises de technologie minérale. Auparavant, elle était Procureure de la Couronne.

Elle est bilingue (anglais/français) et elle a vécu un peu partout au Canada, et aussi à travers le monde, produit d'une famille militaire canadienne.

Géologue: Elle est qualifiée comme géologue, travaillant sur des projets d’exploration minérale dans l’ouest du Canada et au niveau international.


Blair était la première chef de faculté du Centre des Mines et Affaires Économiques du BCIT. Elle a enseigné le droit environnemental à l’Université de Capilano et elle est professeure adjointe à l’UBC.
